Abstract FUN!

I recently moved to NYC to start my career as a Illustrator/Designer and the job hunt has been tough. During the endless job search I try to keep positive and productive. But some times its hard to up the good attitude. That's when George Pratt's bushy face pops in my mind saying "It looks like fun!", and some how the engine kicks in and i go back at it. It reminds when I'm actually enjoying myself and don't think too much I tend to do some of my best work. This random abstraction was just an exercises to remind myself what fun feels like. So i believe my question here is... does it look like fun?

Hard Rock Perfume Design

A freelance gig I did for the Hard Rock. I went with the concept of the guitar handle, simple sweet and elegant. The black bottle is for men, white for women. I really enjoyed working on product design, hope I get more work like this in the future.

Tata Gala

This piece was made for the annual Breast Cancer show "Tata Gala" in Sarasota/ New- York. The concept behind these is that although these women had gone through a Mastectomy they still retain their womanhood.

This was a real fun piece for me, i had been looking for a way to incorporate illustration with graphic shapes, so this was a step in the right direction.

30 Portraits in 30 Days

What a trip! With a lot of frustration , some lack of sleep, and gallons of coffee, I made it through and banged out a few good portraits for this assignment. The assignment was to do 30 portraits in 30 days, but each portrait had to be a different media and approach. Throughout this whole project Barron Storeys voice kept on popping in my head. Though I didn't raise the proof, I did use copious amounts of Matt Medium AKA The Elixir of Life. Enjoy!

3 hour portrait

This is a 3 hour portrait i did in class this morning. After doing a Sargent Master copy (not yet finished) im finally getting the hang of some skin tones, and gain a better understanding of color. I would love to get some feedback from you guys, so drop off a comment. (there is a lot more to come very soon from my 30 portrait assignment for my illustration class) Enjoy!

ACADEMY GOODIES !

I know I havnt updated for a while, But im going to do my best to upload once a week or two.... or 3. back in school now in my 3rd year and it already looks like this year is going to be a blast! here are some pieces i did over summer at the illustration academy. Best and most Frustrating 7 weeks of my life. It gave me the push i needed for my 3rd year here at Ringling. I only did one illustration that I can say im proud of which is the cold play piece. We were assigned different letters of the alphabet and we had to do a portrait of a famous musician, I got the letter C and did a portrait of the main singer from Coldplay, Chris Martin. The rest of the images are figure drawings i did , they were all about 15-20 min long. I would like to give special thanks to all the faculty of the Illustration Academy for all their help and support, you guys ROCK! Enjoy!

i decided to add some of my older works from a a semester or 2 back. Enjoy!

i did this in figure class so about 3 hours to complete, very proud of how it came out :) . water color form live model, and what a great costume !

i did this one for my media class with perez. unlike the water color piece this one took forever , and 2 all nighters, was i asking for a death sentence, perhaps. but i carry on! i also really like how it came out but it still needs more details but the values r right on which im happy about.

this piece i did for my intro to illustration with perez. still life in acrylic done form photo reference that we took in class. i like how the book came out but now since i have been painting in oils for a semester and a half i had forgotten how to tame the acrylic beast ! ill play with acrylics over the summer see what comes out .
